Troubleshooting Headphone Connection Issues on Your Device

·
·

Switching between headphones seems to be a big pain. This has been a problem for the past few weeks whenever I reconnect my headphones (daily). I'm prompted to go into Settings. Even after doing so on the Microphone page, the app remains disconnected from them

Yes - solving the microphone switching issues is our #1 priority right now. We've been seeing a lot of problems with microphone handling, and our next release will specifically target and fix these microphone connectivity issues.

Kyle Lubieniecki Bailey Cook Here's a DIY fix. Let me know if you'd like to hop on Zoom for a walkthrough, or if you think you can handle troubleshooting this on your own. Sorry about the hassle.

Kyle Lubieniecki we are proposing some changes to the microphone settings. Any feedback here would be greatly appreciated. https://talktasticinsiders.slack.com/archives/C07QCS61WHM/p1732053802728289

Just seeing these responses. The issue is still persisting. The changes make logical sense to me - Default - Same As System (mac chooses the mic) but only if it works. I have to continuously turn off my headphones, reconnect, try a few more times, and it still doesn't work 😕

Kyle Lubieniecki Do you always have your macbook pro open when you are using it? or do you have it closed in some sort of dock mode with an external keyboard?

Kyle Lubieniecki Do you want it to follow the system microphone or just use this WH-1000XM3 microphone? Have you tried just setting the mic to WH-1000XM3 - or do you actually need/want it to switch mics?

Kyle Lubieniecki Okay, what exactly would you like it to do? How should it behave? Happy to hop on a quick Zoom or phone call if that would be easier.

Guessing you are using the Mic for one and The speaker of another. Correct?

Kyle Lubieniecki Great chatting with you on Zoom yesterday. Really valuable feedback, and I'm glad Jordan Baird and Devo at Talktastic could join us to help troubleshoot. Hope we got the audio device switching sorted out for you, and that those "advanced macOS tips" were helpful.. Appreciate you man!
