Troubleshooting Microphone Recording Bubble Freezing Issue

@here Has anyone encountered an issue where the microphone recording bubble freezes and becomes unresponsive? If you experience this issue, pls reply to this thread and LMK.

Yeah, it stops listening mid-recording and then the waveform bubbles just like freeze. Did that happen to you?

Interesting - are you switching between microphones when this happens? Like taking out your AirPods or something similar? AirPods are notoriously finicky with this kind of thing. cc Jordan Baird

Currently, switching audio inputs during recording isn't being handled. I don't think we really even define what it should do in that situation. We're working on an implementation that should gracefully handle this.

Tristan Drummond Tristan Drummond When this is happening, are you actively taking your AirPods out or doing anyhting that could trigger a microphone state change? Could it be related to automatic mic switching while you're using AirPods - or is it totally unrelated?

I think it’s related to automatic mic switching of airpods. I wasn’t doing anything that should’ve made it change state

So I couldn’t get it to work at all with any microphone and then I restarted my computer and now it’s working again. I always just leave mine on the default “Same As System”.

I notice I don’t hear the TalkTastic ‘starting recording’ sound when I put my AirPods in (Pro, Gen 2) SOMETIMES.
