Urgent Request: Remove 'Esc' Key Cancellation to Prevent Data Loss

·
·

PLEASE Matt Mireles for the love of got let us remove the "esc" to cancel option. When I talk I am sometimes looking at things, and esc is a VERY VERY common button to hit when working on a computer. If I accidently tap it, no confirmation, no "saved where you left off" or "saved recordings." INSTANTLY deletes everything. What happens when you instantly delete customer data without any warning? People lose trust INSTANTLY and it's nearly impossible to go back. I'm stuck to going to voice memo -> Transcript -> Chatgpt for 99% of my use cases because of this damn terrible UX experience.

I like the esc option. But I think it could be cool if it saved the transcription quietly in the background

Yeah, you're definitely not alone with this issue. I apologize for the frustrating UX.

feedback always comes from a place of love. my background is UX researcher, so aggregious UX anti-patterns like deleting customer generated data with no confirmation is like p0. The second a customer looses trust in a tool, the best you can do is get back to 90% but you'll never get back to 100%. Even chrome warns you not just when you want to close the browser, but on every tab individually if there is unsaved data. Even sticky products know if a customer loses any amount of work, they will never trust us again. Imagine if you spent 10 minutes writing a document, then you switched tabs, and the entire document got deleted because when you lose focus of that window it just insta-deletes. That's the TalkTastic UX right now.
