Developing a Chrome Extension for TalkTastic: A User-Friendly Solution

·
·

Hey Matt, interesting idea about the Chrome extension. I've been thinking - have we considered developing a Chrome extension for TalkTastic? It could be really helpful for users in companies where devices are managed by central IT and there are strict requirements for approved apps. Chrome extensions usually face fewer restrictions. This is actually a real situation at my company. I just realized I can use TalkTastic because I have admin rights for my role, but most of my team members don't have those permissions. TalkTastic isn't officially approved by our central IT. They'd need to go through a lot of hoops to get it validated before I could add them if I wanted to mention them in the app. This could be a barrier for people wanting to try TalkTastic. I think developing a Chrome extension might be a good solution since most of my work, except for Slack, happens in Chrome anyway.

Yes, definitely something we want to tackle. Right now though, my focus is on stabilizing the core application - making it just work reliably. We need to solve these critical bugs and ensure basic stability. The fundamentals need to be rock solid: when you talk, it should record every time without losing audio. It needs to just f*cking work, period. The transcription needs to be accurate and make sense. It needs to be fast and reliable. If you're speaking English, it should transcribe in English, not some random language. There are some fundamentals we need to nail down before we start adding features and expanding the platform. 🎯
